The S1 Lightning was the sportier sibling of the Thunderbolt, using the same chassis with a small screen, smaller tank, new tail and a higher-compression engine. It was lighter and quicker than the Thunderbolt and sold for less. It carried the Harley-Davidson-supplied Sportster-based V-twin.
